Resolutions to Appropriation

Woodland Trail -The print was highly appropriative of some North American indigenous cultures. Once called in, they apologized and pulled the design.

Teepee - The name was highly problematic. Once called in, they apologized and changed it to "Steps."

Scenic Route - Appropriative of North American pictographs. Their sale to Ergo was announced on the heels of this design being released and the discussion never went anywhere.

Resolutions of Questionable Practices

In 2015, Beco employees posted photos of themselves on Instagram diving into a dumpster of carriers and infant inserts that were being thrown away. The image was widely perceived as wasteful. Then Beco owner, Gabriela "Gabby" Caperon, eventually commented that the carriers had been incorrectly manufactured and were not available for sale anyways, and that the infant inserts had been improperly stored and were moldy. While her reasons may be valid, many still felt it was an insensitive series of images.
